Born and raised in New York. Victoria began her theatrical training, in Shelley Winters exclusive classes at the Actors Studio. Eventually withdrawing from years of money gigs in acting to pursue film studies. Victoria Mahoney has received the Lynn Auerbach Screenwriting Fellowship for her project "Yelling to the Sky". Mahoney received a grant for her Sundance Screenwriters and Directors Labs project and mentorship from screenwriter Walter Bernstein. She also received the Maryland Film Fellowship.
Studied fine art at Southampton University.Personally paid (on her Short films) for everything from Band aids to film stock, craft services to gaffer tape, gels, actors, sound, camera packet, gear and editing.Mentored by Hubert Selby Jr. and Walter Mosley.Purchased a two week-round trip ticket to Los Angeles, departing Christmas day, staying instead for three years. Doing artwork at Tower Records, while informally auditing; Film studies and Poli Sci at UCLA.Spent 3 hours counting camera moves and 164 cuts of a 9 minute sequence in Sexy Beast.Favorite all time film; The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965).Shot her first feature, "Yelling to the sky" with two takes maximum, in a total of eighteen days.Commissioned NY Graffiti Artist, EwokOne to transform a production still into a mural in Brooklyn, to coincide with the NY Festival Premiere of "Yelling to the Sky".Commissioned renowned UK Graffiti Artist Robbo, to transform a production still into a mural at famed Tacheles, in Berlin to coincide with the World Premiere of "Yelling to the Sky".
